Or false arrest?
Asking for a friend.
If the arret record is not erased, he could face difficulties in years to come as he was supposedly arrested but "charges were not forthcoming". Just the fact of an arrest, however unwarranted, can become a problem.
I strongly suggest he get an attorney to nullify that record in all the places that is will have proliferated already.
