The attorney general is posting photos of people in Minnesota who have been arrested but not convicted.Attorney General Pam Bondi has started sharing the names and photographs of protesters arrested in Minneapolisin violation of Department of Justice rules.
Bondi took to X Wednesday to share the names and photographs of 16 protesters who had been arrested for allegedly assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal law enforcement agents. We expect more arrests to come, she warned.
DOJ policy expressly prohibits releasing mug shots of defendants charged with federal crimes, unless releasing their photo would serve a legitimate law enforcement function. Not only did Bondis posts fail to serve a clear law enforcement function, they were blatantly intended to have a chilling effect on protesters expression of their First Amendment rights.
Notably, these protesters have only been arrestednot convicted. And somehow, the public still hasnt been told the names of the federal agents who shot and killed Alex Pretti.

(770 posts)Also, they basically can never get the charges to stick because the officers would have to be identified and could be called to testify in court, and we all know how proud ICE agents are to share their identities.

(4,705 posts)to deliberately break the law to 'shame them'. Isn't it interesting how these criminals screeched about doxing the Cowards of ICE...yet doing this is just fine.

(100,638 posts)The snotty, snooty skank she's always been at her trial. Hopefully they'll have her in a remote location and simply turn off her mic when she gets mouthy.

(2,259 posts)What good are the so called rules and policies when those in charge are the ones breaking them. Honor is a fairytale with these people. Bondi, Patel, Johnson, McConnell, 6 Supreme Court Justices, the Felon.....
Some don't even follow the law, what good are rules and policies. A Justice Dept. that's supposed to be independent of the Executive branch. So much for 10 year terms for FBI Directors. Yeah, that worked. Don't get me started on our system of checks and balance. It sounded right in theory. Who would have thought they could have gathered so many power hungry, cowardly, sycophants into 3 separate branches.
Back to my point, when the Dems are back in control, in addition to fixing the obvious, they have got to fix this "honor system" crap. The SC has proven itself to be one of the worst offenders. They'll police themselves my ass.
The only thing that should be named after McConnell when he's gone is a toilet, so he can be crapped on.

(11,822 posts)This wAs done as a way of mobilizing their paramilitary bootlickers in MAGA to go after them. People will track them down and harass their families, their friends, their places of employment, the company that owns their apartment or rental home, without end and get them fired and kicked out of their house.
That is the point of doing this.
