Reichstag fire

In Berlin, Germany they call their main government building (it's the equivalent of our US Capitol) the Reichstag.

Hitler was never elected to office in Germany. In 1933 he was appointed Chancellor of Germany to replace von Hindenburg. Only a few months later martial law was declared after the Reichstag Fire and subsequently all national elections were cancelled. There were no more elections in Germany until 1945, after Hitler was dead and WWII was over.
