According to NCN(a Nebraska news outlet).
A person was hit by a vehicle with a very large Trump flag attached to the vehicle.
This was a peaceful protest, but some of the protesters entered the street and the video shows the vehicle struck the protester then leaving the scene afterwards.
Local police and emergency services arrived to the scene near the high school where this happened. It was unclear what injuries were sustained, but the injured was taken to the hospital nearby.
This happened about 2 hours ago local time. Not sure the the driver was found or if any charges were being assessed.
Umm, I get there were people in the street, but no matter the situation? That driver was in the wrong for hitting someone and driving off. Many responses on Facebook were in support of the vehicle with the Trump flag attached to it! Just goes to show that there is a lot of Trump asswipes who think it okay to do whatever they want? It looked a high school kid who was driving the vehicle! I hope they throw the book at this person whoever it was!

(20,349 posts)Video captured by News Channel Nebraska shows the driver getting into a red SUV thats carrying a flag supporting President Trumps 2024 campaign. Protesters are standing on the sidewalk when one student steps in front of the parked vehicle. The driver appears to go forward, slows and then speeds up, hitting the person, who appeared to land on the hood of the SUV and then roll off to the side. The driver initially slowed down after hitting the student and then left the scene.
A spokesperson with the school district said the student was taken to the hospital. This happened around 2 p.m. during a non-school sponsored, student-led demonstration. School administrators were near the protest to ensure students were safe and peaceful.
We value our relationship with our first responders and their help today. We will continue to work together to keep our students and community safe, Superintendent Brad Dahl said in a news release.

I hope the driver is found and we get the full story.

(1,803 posts)is suffering BIG TIME due to Trump's Agricultural Tariff's........Their entire economy depends on Agriculture, and their State's GDP is off 5 or 6% plus at this time. Also.........Rural Nebraska is losing TONS OF EMS, FIRE, MEDICAL, HOSPITALS........
But they all listen to FOX news who tells them it is all the Dem's fault...,ie Biden, Hillary, Obama, and even Carter......
And they get angrier and more pissed off about their plight, and take it out on dems or demonstrators by mowing them down with their trucks, etc
I gotta tell you, it's always been that ALS Medical Care/Trauma Care in all of Rural America has been poor, but now all of Rural America, which has a large segment of Republican Voters, is having their medical care obliterated by the Republicans, Big Time.....
AND, they ain't seen nothing yet.................

(1,418 posts)But Carmyn Taylor, 20, recalled the sight of a pickup truck bearing down on protesters
spread across the six-lane I-244 in Tulsa.
"The most vivid thing I remember is when I got pulled to the ground. I
remember seeing both sets of wheels run my legs, which was a little
traumatizing," said Taylor, who suffered a broken leg and a sprained ankle.
"For the first two weeks after the accident, I couldn't walk."
"A little traumatizing?" Talk about a gift for understatement.
It also says that they declined to press charges against the
driver claiming that several people had attacked the truck with
his children inside. I hope she at least saw a lawyer.
