So we're having our coldest weekend for the year

It’s 72°F in my neighborhood
68°F In the Blue Mountains
69°F In Mandeville
The media folks have been talking about this very cold weekend that was coming.

What’s the temperature in your neck of the woods?

Lots of ice and snow here (and lots of inconsiderate idiots who do not take steps to ensure safe driving, walking, etc.).

Normal highs this time of year are around 45F. It’s been 20 or more degrees below that for over a week. But there have been few power outages in the region.

Local news just told us where we can take the stunned lizards that will be falling from the trees and the manatee are a concern as temps will drop below freezing here starting in about 12 hours. A very unusually cold few days for us. I don’t have the clothes for this kind of weather!

...I was constantly checking the basement sensor of this 150 year old plus under built German farmhouse to make sure the pipes don't freeze.

Not looking forward to to the next utility bill.

Modest envy here.

Much better than the 0 we had last week. High tomor of 20. Main problem is all the ice, on top of the snow we already had, and nothing is thawing. Our road is still a skating rink, and I've already slipped and busted my butt twice.

I have a little goat living in my bathroom at the moment. We found her paralyzed in the hind end, and her gums were already blue from the cold. She's now on meds, and staying warm.

If it's cold you just wear more clothes, but if it's hot there's nothing more you can do when you've taken all of them off.

nearly a week ago. There are hundreds of snapped utility poles, and power lines broken by fallen trees or the weight of ice. I lost power for 4 days but was fortunate to shelter with friends who were not affected. It is a real hardship, and there have been many cases of carbon monoxide poisoning in people desperately trying to stay warm enough to survive. How I would love to be in sunny Jamaica! (My sister used to live in Irishtown).
