For February: Resist and Unsubscribe

Scott Galloway, an NYU Professor and podcast host is urging us to resist economically this month:

Americans are feeling powerless to thwart the Trump administration’s assault on our nation’s values. Praised by tech CEOs, surrounded by sycophants, and enriched by his return to the White House, the president’s actions march on unchecked. Americans, however, have a powerful weapon that has been hiding in plain sight.

First, we must recognize that the president is unfazed by citizen outrage, the courts, or the media. He responds to one thing: the market. The most potent weapon to resist the administration is a targeted, month-long national economic strike — a coordinated campaign that attacks tech companies and firms enabling ICE — to inflict maximum damage with minimal impact on consumers. In sum, the shortest path to change without hurting consumers is an economic strike targeted at the companies driving the markets and enabling our president.

He has a list of companies to target here:

If you can't do all of them at least do some and send a message.

But it's a great idea to say, "February is unsubscribe month."

they were the subject of boycotts by the right because of LGBT programming, and the CEO gave lots of money to Newsom's redistricting campaign.

and all of their shares in companies that are investing in oil based energies to green companies.

PS I would really like to see everyone pull their money out of their retirement plans as IRAs and 401k's are a big source of investment fraud by financial advisors and Wall Street. Just think how much change could be accomplished by taking away AI stocks, petroleum stocks, etc., from Wall Street. A General Strike will never work.

But I noticed You Tube on the list, there are a lot of "Independent" Journalists, Hosts and Podcasters who use You Tube.

What would you suggest to not hurt these Podcasters, such as Mary Trump Media, Danielle Moodie, Joy Reid, Wajahat Ali, Keith Edwards and many others???? They count on subscribers.

8. You can watch and subscribe without being in any of the YouTube payment plans. You do get ads, though.

That I have never subscribed to any of those entities nor do I use any of those online services. Banking is done at a credit union. I've maintained a very small footprint over decades so I am only inhibited by the choices available rather than having to give up something.
