Could Abbot and drumpf's plans to steal congressional seats in TX blow up in their faces

Abbot has redrawn the Texas maps to disenfranchise Democratic voters, at the command of the dictator in the white house. Their plan was to steal five seats. But those maps are based on the assumption that GOP support from 2024 will remain steady. They are rigging the map but diluting red districts with more blue voters to shrink and eliminate the blue seats.

But... we just won a Texas senate seat in a district drumpf won by 17 points, by about 13 points. The swing is about 30 points.

If the GOP is diluting their own safe districts to eliminate blue seats, but assuming 2024 support will remain the same, could they actually not only not pick up the 5 seats in Texas, but actually LOSE some of the ones they hold now???

Many of my blue friends were quietly laughing at how the redistricting might end up. It now is looking like they may have been right. It is Texas, though. You rarely lose your money betting on Texas to disappoint humanity.

most of the articles written on this are from last summer, when trump kicked off this expensive bullshit. his next ploy will be worse = a full mid decade census and another redistricting before 2028
