Who knew that Quaker Oats gets their oats from Canada? No wonder the boxes have gone up 50% since the last time I bought them. Quaker Oats, all subject to Trump's tariffs on Canada:

The Quaker Oats Plant is the largest cereal mill in the world, located in downtown Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States, alongside the Cedar River, originally founded in 1873, rebuilt after a fire in 1905. It employs about 740 people and produces various cereal products from Canadian sourced oats, including traditional rolled oats and oatmeal.

ay about $3 for the large canister. Now I think it's over $6.
Oatmeal is a serious part of a lot of people's diets. It was cheap and easy to prepare and it's healthy.

(24,350 posts)local grocery store for weeks now. They doubled the price of Quaker, then they just stopped stocking it. The store brand (which I also noticed was made in Canada) sold for half the price but hasn't been in stock for months. Terrible.
