The awkwardness happened Saturday night at the Alfalfa Club dinner, an invitation-only event for some 200 of the rich and powerful who gather together each year on Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lees birthday.
According to The Post, it was the first time Trump addressed the club, speaking before a room whose membership includes such foes as JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon (whose bank he is suing), David Rubenstein (whom he fired as head of the Kennedy Center) and Jerome H. Powell (the outgoing Fed chairman whose role he is investigating).
I am aghast that the so called rich and powerful would attend a dinner at a club named Alfalfa on Robert E Lees birthday! Really?! Like the name of the club and the designated date arent clues enough to make you say . . . Not for me! Not sure what they were taught, but most people know you are who you hang with! Can the rich and powerful be any more depraved? I guess we wont truly understand the depths of their depravity until the Epstein files are released in total. Then we will see how they explain away decades of child abuse. Not to mention the maggots trying to continue to justify their support for the shit for brains orangutan.
Just when I take heart with the mass ice uprisings across this country, i see articles like this and hear and read more Epstein documentation and realize the depravity is a bottomless pit!

Texas made "Lee Day" a holiday in 1931. In 1973, "Lee Day" was renamed Confederate Heroes Day.
Arkansas combined the observance of Robert E. Lee Day with Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1985, after two years of requiring state employees to select between the two holidays or their own birthday as a day off from work. In 2017, it passed a law removing General Lee's name from the January holiday; the law also established a state memorial day on the second Saturday of October in honor of Lee.
Virginia observed a holiday honoring Lee on January 19 from 1889 until 1904, at which time Stonewall Jackson was added to the observance and the holiday renamed LeeJackson Day. The combined holiday was observed on the Friday preceding the third Monday in January. In 1983, the holiday was merged with Martin Luther King Jr. Day when the latter became a federal holiday, forming LeeJacksonKing Day. In 2020, with a Democratic governor and both houses of the state legislature controlled by Democrats, the observance of LeeJackson Day was abolished.
Georgia formerly called the Friday after Thanksgiving Robert E. Lee Day; now it is only an unnamed paid holiday

(89,254 posts)I hadnt heard about the Alfalfa Club til now.
The problem I have is wondering how many MORE of these conservative clubs and other groupings there are - that were going to have to fight. And with some of em, its not just fighting, but EXPOSING in the first place.
