Thanks, but I won't be taking advice from former NJ Governor Krispy Kreme

Saw a clip of him today from MSNOW, where he claims that to "restore credibility in our Justice Department", the next President, whether Dem, or Retrumplican, needs to "appoint an attorney general from the other party".

Retrumplicans do this ALL THE TIME.

During their misadministrations, they appoint as many of the most partisan demagogues, unhinged racists and corrupt to the core authoritarian dipshits they can find. They appoint these asshats all over the federal courts and into every federal agency: and as deep into those agencies as they can go.

Hell, they might also steal 3 Supreme Court Judges along the way.

Even before they lose power, Retrumplican suddenly become "bipartisan purist" and begin demanding that the "only way to restore faith in our federal agencies", is for Democrats to appoint slightly less reich-wing demagogues

The result of this tactic is to drag the federal government in a continuous reich-wing direction.

Democrats need to stop falling for this shit.

The MAGAt dipshits, whether the senior Executive Service Civil Servant at the IRS, or the Leading Petty Officer of 2ND Division on board the USS LEYTE GULF, needs to be ripped out of our government by the roots.

Maybe then we can begin "restoring trust".

Apparently not much it seems.

Yeah, republicans keep using the same old tired playbook. They can't be trusted ever again.

Always with the gaslighting. They just can't help themselves. It's in the veins where the blood used to be.

Republican presidents have historically appointed Attorneys General (AG) who align with conservative legal philosophies, often focusing on law-and-order policies, executive power, and legal challenges to liberal initiatives. Key appointments include Pamela Bondi (nominated 2024/2025), William Barr (1991-93, 2019-20), Jeff Sessions (2017-18), and John Mitchell (1969-72).
Key Republican President-Attorney General Pairings:
Donald Trump (2017–2021, 2025–):
Pam Bondi (2025–present): Nominated to lead the DOJ, known for2024/2025, a former Florida AG and loyal ally.
William Barr (2019–2020): Served as AG for a second time, notably breaking with Trump over 2020 election fraud claims.
Jeff Sessions (2017–2018): Early supporter, resigned amid tensions over the Russia investigation.
Matthew Whitaker (Acting, 2018–2019).
George W. Bush (2001–2009):
Michael Mukasey (2007–2009).
Alberto Gonzales (2005–2007): Resigned amid controversy over US Attorney firings.
John Ashcroft (2001–2005): Heavily involved in post-9/11 PATRIOT Act policies.
George H.W. Bush (1989–1993):
William Barr (1991–1993): Served as AG during the LA riots.
Richard Thornburgh (1988–1991).
Ronald Reagan (1981–1989):
Edwin Meese III (1985–1988).
William French Smith (1981–1985).
Richard Nixon (1969–1974):
John N. Mitchell (1969–1972): A close friend of Nixon who later became involved in the Watergate scandal.
Richard Kleindienst (1972–1973).
Elliot Richardson (1973).
William Saxbe (1974–1975).
