France is leading and others will follow. They have much more accountability for anti-democratic activities. What happens to his empire when he cant freely travel to the EU without threat of being arrested.
Karma is coming. The US is not the only player in the game, and the EU as a unit can wield some serious power.

That being said, I think the fines and penalties will actually sting. The courts there used to issue fines based on wealth or income. Or
they might just ban X altogether, if he behaves like his usual arrogant asshole self.
Also, who knows what juicy details they might have come across in their office raid

(21,869 posts)BUT, having said that, there's always long-term prison. And THAT is no picnic. A few years ago, my hubby and I went to a conference where the keynote speaker was someone who did time in a French prison. It was a tale of horrors...just one tiny window at the top of a wall. No TV. Just an hour out of the cell per day. Terrible overcrowding and sanitary conditions, so much so that human rights advocates have decried that environment.
I actually think that would be more fitting than the guillotine.
