Just dumped WaPo.

I have been thinking about it for some time. The gutting of their news staff and others made me think again.
Then came the email that their Eat Voraciously newsletter is on hiatus. That is what was bothering me. The writer never got a goodbye in.
I'll miss some good recipes that showed.

2. Dumped them several years ago and more recently stopped reading the NY Times. The Guardian is what replaced them.

Haven't missed it in the least. I dumped NYT even before that. Now I read the Guardian and AP News, with a nod to Chicago Tribune and HuffPost/

I hope they can get new ownership or find a way to transition to the new media environment. They are a great paper.

The refusal to make a presidential endorsement was my last straw... And they keep sending me new "deals" -- just a dollar a week for a year... two years...

Perhaps if they get down to a dollar a month, I'll resubscribe until the deal runs out. That price strikes me as a bit of an insult.

The WP was such a great paper. As a librarian (long ago) the WP was one of the few newspapers we would recommend for HS kids to use as a reliable source when they were working on research papers, current event background etc. Many library patrons would come in every day to read it as well as the NYT, WSJ, etc. It breaks my heart The
Post has sunk so low in really a very short period of time.

Is there another buyer lurking in the woods who would be willing to support and restore it? Is Bezos even willing to sell? Or his game plan turn it into another Faux News style of “information” ie totally and completely useless for any verifiable information.

The goal wasn't to improve these platforms - or even profit from them. Just to control them and use them for their own means.
