Yeah, this is their forte and they should be involved in this.

(6,801 posts)and not others? I realize that Susannah Guthrie is famous but how many people are abducted or go missing and they dont date the attention that her mother is getting.
Trump is so infantile and will try to insert himself so he can feel important and fill the never filled well that is his ego.

(77,302 posts)to what media is saying, more. In this and many events, the spokespeople seem to be affected by being in the media, in different degrees - deer-in-headlights or thrilled by the spotlight or nervous or occasionally thoroughly in charge.
As for this Meta sheriff, seems like he shouldn't be so personal in his details, both about him and his staff and about this victim and family.
I know the locale is not L.A., but on a brief visit I saw how law enforcement interacted with celebrity types (not big names) with extreme solicitousness and deference, like supplicants to the important people.

(77,302 posts)So this one is shy, engratiating, tentative. The Meta part is what I'm talking about as a mildly off-putting or disconcerting thing, as opposed to a just-the-facts Dragnet approach - just my personal reaction, Meta-me?
And I did specify comparing how all different spokespeople act, differently.
