Jen Psaki and Sam Henneberry on Trump's "promise" to "donate" a $10 billion IRS "settlement" to "charity."

A very well-written piece. Adhering to the "4 paragraph rule" could not possibly do it justice. I encourage you to go the link and read the entire article.

Trump says he’ll donate $10 billion from his IRS lawsuit to charity. Americans shouldn’t buy it.
The president has been caught lying about his charitable donations many, many times before.

So, as Trump tells it, he is going to order Bessent and Bondi, his direct subordinates, to pay him $10 billion of your money, but also, you shouldn’t worry about that because he is going to give all of that money to charity.

Now this is sort of a “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me” scenario, because Trump has been caught lying — saying he was going to donate to charity and then not — many, many times before.

For example, when Trump launched his 2016 presidential campaign, he claimed he had given more than $102 million to charity in the previous five years. His campaign released a 93-page list detailing all of those donations.

But there was one problem: It turns out not a single one of those donations was actually a personal gift of Trump’s own money.

Balm to my soul after weeks of grinding my teeth while seeing supposed news sources straight-facedly referring to the "immigration enforcement action" in Minnesota. That somehow can only end upon surrender of voter data. Or is it about daycare fraud? So they're overtaxing the courts in Minnesota with civil rights violation cases so that the people who have been investigating/prosecuting the fraud have resigned. But it's all about apprehending the "worst of the worst" like elementary school students with pending asylum applications. And obstructing traffic or kicking a taillight is suddenly a crime meriting immediate extra judicial execution by firing squad in the street.

And yet we're still seeing news sources obediently pretending that the surge of Diaper Don's and Lynn' Life-raft Lips' personal Gestapo is about "immigration enforcement"
