My father has jokingly said that people should hold fiscal cliff parties on New Years Eve (rename your new years eve party)

There is NO JOKE about the actions of an oppressive, out of control conservative organization that would raise the rates of millions of Americans, putting them all in the poorhouse just so they can score points with their millionaire/billionaire puppetmasters following Karl Rove's edicts. At least in Canada you have the good sense to have progressive tax rates, and we are trying to get there, but we have a few rethugs to take out with extreme political prejudice before it can happen.

It's really not funny though. I do think we can survive with our taxes being raised. We survived before, and we can survive after.

My issue is that millions will lose unemployment. That will be a disaster.
