ELP Ground Stop - Trump's Next Big Distraction?
So the air space around the El Paso airport has been shut down on an emergency basis for 10 days. Unprecedented. Unexplained. Let's speculate:
How is El Paso, TX any sort of strategic place? It's not, except that it's on the US/Mexican border, just North of Juarez. What could Trump have in mind to distract US Citizens from the many, many troubles Trump has brought on himself?
I can think of one:
A military incursion into Mexico to deal with "the DRUG CARTELS." That's the only one that pops into my mind. Shift a bunch of troops to El Paso and storm across the border to do stupid things. Doing stupid things is Trump's calling card, after all. The more serious he needs to be in distratcting people the better. And what could more serious than invading Mexico with our military?
We'll find out soon, I'm sure. Meanwhile, if we have any DUers in El Paso, I hope they'll keep us updated about any unusual air traffic, especially military traffic. Transports, for example. Movements of fighter jets and B-2 bombers. Let us know.
Am I right? I don't know. We'll find out.
