Democrats will block new stopgap to fund Homeland Security Department

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) says Senate Democrats will block another short-term funding resolution to keep the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) opeSen. Jacky Rosen (Nev.), a moderate Democrat, said the White House responded to Democrats’ draft of legislative text for proposed immigration enforcement reforms with a “one-pager” lacking details.

“We’re 3 days away from a DHS shutdown and Republicans have not gotten serious about negotiating a solution that reins in ICE and stops the violence. Democrats will not support a CR to extend the status quo,” Schumer wrote on social media, referring to the continuing resolution Congress needs to pass by Feb. 13 to avoid a DHS shutdown.

No one really cares if ICE is de-funded or not anyway. All we have been doing is funding a personal army for Donald Dump to abuse our country even further. Either fix it or get rid of it.
