The Village That Lies in Two Countries

Bearing in mind the bad actors splitting communities apart, this is a heartwarming story from the Dutch-German border

There is an unusual village on the German-Dutch border. Or rather: two villages? In fact, you can't really tell - because the state border runs directly along the village street. On one side the houses are Dutch, on the other German. And if you don't pay close attention, you won't even notice which country you are in. Time to take a closer look at this curiosity.

I haven't been through there since I was a kid, but I remember the state line ran right down the middle of one of the streets. I always wondered who paid to get the line painted every few years, if they tossed a coin or what.
