I've been neutered on YouTube

I can still watch any video I choose, but I can no longer comment on any vids of a political nature. When I try to make a comment on such posts, I am hit with a "comments have been disabled" message. But I can still leave comments on Soma videos. Has anyone else here had a similar experience on YT? If so, who do I need to contact to get my ability to comment on politics back?

1. My guess is that a regular Youtuber filed a complaint against you

It would be the equivalent of a DU collection of 5 hidden posts ...

However I don't think YouTube actually hides posts, they just respond when enough complaints build up. I don't really know because I'm not a regular on there. When I'm on YouTube I refrain from making any political comments at ALL because there's no protections for liberals or Dems there.

Maybe you can open a new account under a different name?

5. Comments that have been "disabled" or "turned off" is usually done by the content creator

of the video themselves and not Youtube. It doesn't necessarily mean YOU have been blocked from commenting. Content creators block comments for many reasons and not just political.

8. No, though I have experienced something similar on sports articles on Yahoo.

First time through on the comments section, I can comment as much as I want. But when I click away and try to come back, there is no longer a comments section. And that only happens on sports articles. I just laugh at my shadow “half-ban” and go on with my life.
