_____________
He didn't go in to the doctor for a few weeks after he had fell and hit his head. He had debilitating headaches and finally went in and was told he needed an operation to deal with the clot that had formed due to the injury.
The operation left him very, very weak and recovery has been slow. I posted this because I wanted to give an example of what Sec. Hillary Clinton may be going through. It's almost unbelievable that there are news organizations who will tolerate people belittling the injury or dismissing it. It can be just fine, or, it can be really serious. Let's keep this seemingly tireless public servant in our thoughts and send her our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Damn the haters.

(12,409 posts)Many are unaware of the real dangers Secretary Clinton faces. The blood clot danger from her head trauma was always a possibility.
Another example would be Natasha Richardson.

Richardson died in 2009 following a head injury sustained when she fell during a skiing lesson in Quebec, Canada.
On 16 March 2009, Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a beginner skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Canada about 80 miles (130 km) from Montreal. The injury was followed by a lucid interval, when Richardson seemed to be fine and was able to talk and act normally.
Paramedics and an ambulance which initially responded to the accident were told they were not needed and left. Refusing medical attention twice, she returned to her hotel room and about three hours later was taken to a local hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts after complaining of a headache. She was transferred from there by ambulance to Hôpital du Sacré-Cur, Montreal, in critical condition and was admitted about seven hours after the fall.
The following day she was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died on 18 March at the age of 45. An autopsy conducted by the New York City Medical Examiners Office on 19 March revealed the cause of death was an "epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head", and her death was ruled an accident.

(2,593 posts)Secretary Clinton's condition. Pissed me off, big time. I've removed that site from my bookmarks, and don't intend to visit it in the future. If they're trolling for the right wing nuts, they don't need me.

btw, there were a few times at work, when I thought I'd prefer a brain clot to having to give a presentation to a large audience.

(11,464 posts)she had this before many years ago, and most always this is not a major thing once treated.
If not mistaken, Joe Biden had this 40 years ago, and probably the world has forgotten all about it, being that he is so active ever since.
And this can happen to a 10 year old too. It is not age related.
and yes, DAMN THE HATERS, because they know how popular she is, and the rightwing conspiracy talked about in the early 1990s does exist and is worse today.

In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton's doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago. She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours.
Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion. They will determine if any further action is required.

(11,464 posts)normally.
I know people are thinking Natasha Richardson, but she did not get any care whatsoever til it was too late.
From what you read, she had the fall, and thought nothing of it, not going to the doctors at all, and by the time it did, it was untreatable.
Hillary was in constant care with the doctors
(and while people (not me) complain about Cheney getting his free healthcare, this is a good thing in Hillary's case as she has the top doctors and quick treatment)
assuming what the reports her staff is releasing are true, it should be okay
BTW-as to the rags in the supermarket-
they are not always right.
Aretha Franklin was given a dire prog. by the rags that was 100% false. Had she had what they said, she would not be alive and better than ever and doing shows and appearances seems like every other day.
So the rags are just that. And it was proven the rags are rightwing owned and operated.

(27,559 posts)he got checked-out at ER and nothing broken (he is 74). Fast Forward to Christmas Day, 2011 and he was just sitting and found himself unable to talk.
He is fine today after some minor surgery, but this is apparently a problem which can happen as you get older.
He had a slow bleeder in the brain... very slow.

(171,066 posts)I have wondered if all that traveling may have been a contributing factor. All I know is she is receiving the best of care and is in good hands. She is in my thoughts.

(39,313 posts)Who knows but it seems that this might contribute to Hillary not running. She handles so much stress but this is just a sign that it has an impact.
