two of the most powerful street gangs waged a bloody war over drug territory . another factor was a very long hot summer that kept people on the streets longer into the night. this number does not include the number of people who were wounded. it does not include the number of people who were personally effected by the death and wounding of their family and friends.not all these deaths were gang related but that does`t change the horrific violence in the neighborhoods of chicago and the surrounding cities in northern il.
