Simon Maloy @SimonMaloy

A normal person, after accusing someone of faking a medical condition that subsequently deteriorates, expresses contrition. A normal person.

Wonder if those sarcastically doubting Sec. Clinton's health will have the decency to apologize....I'm not exactly holding my breath.

@davidmschlitt @joshtpm If anyone has mastered the victimhood complex it is Hillary Rodham Clinton. She plays it brilliantly. Has for 20 yrs

So in reality the Clinton people actually under exaggerated her illness, not the opposite.

. . . that there isn't a bottom to the tolerance of Americans for this type of public dialogue.

I do think these types of outrageous slights are having an impact on the republican party brand. They wanted these journos to be their mouthpieces and now republicans own whatever garbage their media surrogates choose to spew.

from desperate people. They're grabbing onto anything they can. Let them have their little tantrums. We're used to them at this point.

On FB and elsewhere. This is just the latest excuse to avoid testifying about the horrific, game changing, unprecedented events that took place in Benghazi, Libya on the anniversary of the worst thing to ever happen anywhere to anyone.

They aren't seeing this as anything other than a further stalling tactic. There is no compassion, no credulity of any sort really.

7. I think it reflects the same trend we saw during the campaign; the unbridled demagoguery

. . . distinctly coming from the republican party and their surrogates. There was a decision from the top of their leadership and the top of their presidential ticket to tolerate and expound on any and all avenues to discredit their opposition; including repeating easily disproved lies as if they represented a legitimate side of a political argument.

It's a rather lazy tactic which speaks volumes about the level of seriousness and integrity of the practitioners, and it does little more than solidify support among a like-minded 'extremism-a-virtue-in-defense-of' base of support which repels supporters far more rapidly than it attracts them with the inanity and meaninglessness of their cynical messaging.

At some point, grown-ups and other serious folk involved with issues like Benghazi will just have to tune them out and move forward. I imagine that the majority of Americans already have parsed and moved past this campaign-generated cacophony.

That states it pretty accurately.
