they just reported that in spite of the fiscal cliff the markets opened higher.???

and most of them say that most stock investors are sidelining (I think that's the correct term) until this is resolved. I could be wrong - just inherited a sizable portfolio and am trying to learn about stock trading.

This whole debate, from what I've seen, is holding up major investment and economic growth. I welcome alternative opinions.
