According to this article, Democrats have already conceded massive tax cuts for the rich. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/two-sides-now-absurdly-close-124000145.html

That seems to list what Democrats have given up.

Just as I suspected and have said many times. From the starting point of extending 78% of the Bush tax cuts, the Democrats new position is to extend about 90% of them.

So that is what Democrats gave up.

What are we going to be told we got? Here's my best guess.

1. tax increases on the rich.

Which is true. We will get about 1/2 or 1/3rd the amount of tax increases on the rich that we could have gotten if Democrats had NOT made a deal.

Some are prepared to celebrate that as a great victory. Rich people were scheduled to have $1 trillion in tax increases but Obama played hardball and forced the Republicans to vote for $500 billion in tax increases.

Oh, but don't let me forget Poland.

The deal also prevents $14 billion in tax increases on the poor.

2. a year of extended unemployment benefits


From where I sit it looks like the Democrats are already blinking so fast and furious that their eyelids could be used as a wind machine in a Hollywood movie.

actually will the 98% again be subjugated to the 2% unemployed.
