Does anyone else wonder if John Huntsman will trade his (R) for an (I)?

He has had some harsh words for his current party, lately.

Just today, on HuffPo:

Jon Huntsman: GOP 'Devoid Of A Soul'
Exerpt:

"The party right now is a holding company that's devoid of a soul and it will be filled up with ideas over time and leaders will take their proper place," he said.

"We can't be known as a party that's fear-based and doesn't believe in math," he added. "In the end it will come down to a party that believes in opportunity for all our people, economic competitiveness and a strong dose of libertarianism."

"In my party, compromise cannot be seen as analogous to treason, which it has been recently," he said.

3. It represents a lot he agrees with. He's conservative, just a little less crazy.

if 14 or 16 kills the tea party, the rest of the Republican establishment is going to have to get honest... demographics will insure that

4. I think that is exactly it. I think he believes they will have to return to sanity eventually.

I for one, think that the Republicans will drift back to the center in the next couple of election cycles..... for one thing demographics will dictate that for survival.... however I must say, I would dearly Love for them to be out of power for a generation, as a matter of atonement
