My father was a city councilor in my hometown when I was young until I was an adult. We talked politics often. A job came up and a member of a large, politically active family wanted him to support one of his relatives for a kinda of low-level position at the DPW. My father refused to help. I asked my father why? After all, this could be beneficial if he did it or detrimental if he didn't. My Dad answered, "That family is a "Tenner". I said, "what's a Tenner?". He said "you can do that family 9 favors and if you can't do the tenth, they hate you. I may as well help 9 other people who appreciate our help than need to be 100% for people who never stop asking."

Trump is a "Tenner".

SCOTUS is learning that lesson today.
