Or remarks. And I would say "hastily arranged" is probably pretty accurate. All this seems to be changing by the hour.

not all of them are making 6 figures and many are middle class.

Anyway I don't know what the point was either but I guess it was just to keep folks updated. Why not a press release? Who knows.

I would have preferred an Oval Office address in primetime with the President speaking directly to the nation, but I guess and audience with laughter and applause and a relaxed President is fine for New Years Eve
