so, my middle kid lives in brooklyn. works in queens, her bf works in manhatten. checked in w her today. she’s home, but the bf had to work.
i asked how long it took him to get to work.
she- not bad.
me- well, i guess it doesnt snow in the subway.
s- actually, it’s been raining in the subway lately. like, pouring rain. some sections got snow.

this is a disaster waiting to happen. if water is pouring in, concrete WILL fail. dollar signs followed by a b’s flashing through my mind.
and with things the way they r, nobody is gonna do shit until that disaster happens.

1. Much of the subway is elevated, snow would not be unusual there.

I lived on the Lower East Side for 8 years, I can't imagine how or where it would snow in underground parts of the subway.
I don't miss it but enjoyed while I was there, pre Rudy.

Mamdani declared a travel ban from 9:00 last night to 11:00 this morning. All essential businesses were closed.
