My nephew sent me a short text that his relatives are in an RV convoy leaving Mexico. He didn't give me any details, such as where, how many, when they decided to leave. I assume they are leaving because of the fighting between the Mexican military and the drug cartels. I just read that the U.S. regime told Americans in Mexico to shelter in place. I haven't seen any news about Americans trying to evacuate. My paragraph sounds like it's out of an apocalyptic novel.
If I hear any more about this, I will update.
****Update: My nephew's relatives have left Mexico, all is well. Thank you for your concern

(23,928 posts)They live in Yelepa, a small town of about 1500 people on the coast about a 45 minute boat ride to Puerto Vallarta. Ugh, really hope they are doing well and safe.

(3,407 posts)I have close relatives on a Mexico cruise that were supposed to be in Puerto Vallarta today. Suffice to say, plans changed and they aren't.

(22,934 posts)they are traveling right now. I think they have extended family around the area. I hope all is well for all of the people in the area. The cartels have been well armed for a long time, but it is still hard to believe they can fight a national army.

(4,436 posts)They don't want to trumpet their itineraries for fear of being ambushed.
"We" should not publish every detail, either.
