Take whatever you're feeling after whatever you've seen or read about last night's "address" and flip that to the polar opposite, and that is the Republicans' post-speech take.

And because Trump's mental decline is daily fodder for the headlines, many of them went for the "IT WAS A MASTERCLASS" and "BEST SPEECH OF MY LIFETIME" stuff.

You REALLY didn't expect any of them to break ranks with a "MEH," did ya?

2. He's always been an asset, a useful idiot

There's a famous episode of "The Simpsons."

It's a snow day, and Homer decides to let the family go to church while he stays home. He's watching The Three Stooges on TV, and at one point softly chuckles and says to no one in particular ( since he's "Homer Alone" ), "MOE IS THEIR LEADER."

And he's right. Moe Trump is the leader of the Republican stooges.
