The stock market closes at 4PM, and it doesn't appear to have sold off late in the session... was the House 'no vote tonight' announcement made at 4:01?
I didn't have the TV on so I don't have a good sense of the chronology. John Harwood's tweet from CNBC with the news may have come at 3:59 EST... was it embargoed?
Either way, probably a big coincidence.

last 2 minutes of trading. Huge volume at the close and mostly to the down side. Happy New Years all 401's and IRA's you just got ripped by the biggies.
