And he looks like he came out of Central Casting for a clean cut guy who will appeal to white voters of the Christian Nationalism persuasion. GOP knows Cornyn is on his way out with voters, and Paxton has more baggage than a luxury liner in the 1930s. The GOP need insurance policy against Texas actually going toward rational representation.

As a resident of AZ and victim of Democrat Kyrsten Sinema's treachery, I am worried Telarico is another Trojan Horse of a different gender.

a couple of years ago when he began to stand out in the Texas lege. I honestly think he is the real deal. I'm not into the religion thing but his version seems much more honest and digestible. Admittedly his image shouts "moderate" which to be honest is the only kind of Dem that can win in today's Texas. Texas has changed so much since the Bush invasion. I long for the days of Anne Richards and Mollie Ivins. ☮

Seems risky to support an unknown and then hope for the best.

When Sinema ran in DEM primary here, she was on TV constantly. Lots of big money behind her, and that was worrisome. Voted for her opponent in the DEM primary and voted for her in the general that year, but felt VERY uneasy about her. Hoped I was wrong, but... Us AZ DEMS were mad as hell about her votes and snotty behavior.

Getting the same feeling now. Sending what I can to Crockett. If we can take a GOP senate seat from the GOP, and from Texas, it will be solid evidence that the pendulum is swinging towards sanity in government again.

He is not "an unknown." This is not "hope for the best."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Talarico

Jasmine Crockett has only been serving since 2023 (that's THREE YEARS.)

So James has been serving 5 years longer than her, for those of us at DU who seem to be not strong at math.

Much of this anti-Talarico, rabid-Crockett support seems to be coming from non-Texans who don't have a grasp of Texas politics and who really seem to want to interfere with Texas elections. It's perplexing. As a Texan, I like both candidates. I was dismayed when Crockett decided to run for the senate seat (on the last day of the filing deadline) not because I don't like her, but because Talarico had already been running a strong campaign for months by that point, and I was already planning to vote for him. I wanted both of them! I wished she would have decided to run for something else where we didn't already have a strong candidate running.

I think a lot of these nasty anti-Talarico smears are coming from outside the state, and I wish they would stop. It's really disappointing.

Where did it come from? Talarico been in office four terms and hasn't turned R.

I mean, personally, I'll vote for either, but we don't have a voice in Congress speaking out against Christian Nationalism, which has gone unchecked forever, and I'd prefer Crockett in a position for the next administration.

that actual Texans are divided and like BOTH James Talarico and Jasmine Crockett. They can't wrap their minds around the idea that this race is very close, much less the idea that James Talarico may win. He has not only been in office for four terms, so LOTS of experience, despite what some keep saying. They are going insane because they believe it should be an absolute Jasmine Crockett blow away, and since that isn't manifesting, since Texans like BOTH candidates, they are looking for any excuse to find something wrong with him that doesn't exist.

Talarico has served for 4 terms now, since 2018. He's been steady as they go for the past 8 years. You might not be aware of that, since like you said, you are from Arizona, and aren't tuned in to Texas politics.

Crockett was elected in 2023 and has served for 3 years.

Here are a couple of different polls

New Emerson poll of Texas Senate Democratic Primary (1/10-12):

OVERALL:
🟣 47% Talarico
🟠 38% Crockett

🟣 Latinos — Talarico +34
🟣 White — Talarico +29
🟣 Independents — Talarico +29
🟣 Men — Talarico +22
🟣 Women — Talarico +1
🟠 Dems — Crockett +1
🟠 Black — Crockett +72

Here is another

But I suspect those numbers are in the primary given Talerico is her primary opponent. Getting a majority of senior citizens or whites without a college degree in the Democratic primary doesn't translate to the same among the same demographics in a state wide Texas election.

So my scenario is she leaves the race and endorses Talerico with the agreement that, when he wins, she will run his Senate office and they will work the vote coalitions together.

Is that practical?

Do they hate each other's guts? I certainly would hope not!

If you want bitcoin to be money and for the bitcoin Musk and maga crowd to be the new billionaire class, vote for Jasmine Crockett and the crypto Democrats.

https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/jasmine-crocketts-cryptocurrency-history-is-under-scrutiny-heres-what-her-record-tells-us/

The trump imposition of bitcoin to back the dollar is going to be the greatest transfer of wealth to maga white nationalists those that Talarico is fighting against.

Talarico has called Christian nationalism "the worship of power—social power, economic power, political power, in the name of Christ" and has said Christian nationalists have turned Jesus "into a gun-toting, gay-bashing, science-denying, money-loving, fear-mongering fascist"

I hang out with maga trumpers, they are stacked with bitcoin and are Christian nationalists. Years ago when Tucker was on Faux News, Tucker was trying to get Faux News viewers to buy bitcoin because it was going to make Republicans wealthy.

Jasmine Crockett is the candidate for that. That is the legacy that trump wants.

If you don't believe me, listen to Rachel Maddow:

It was the Bannon, Epstein, trump agenda to do the greatest transfer of wealth in human history. Those of the Epstein class that invested in bitcoin when it was pennies, when it is made money, are going to be billionaires controlling politics.

This issue is bigger than Epstein, because if Crockett and her donors have it their way, it is the genocide of those without bitcoin/money. And those wealthy in bitcoin are going to run industries, politics, media. It is the invention of millions of Musks around the globe, loyal to Christian Nationalism.

Bitcoin was first sold to libertarians and tea party members, they bought and mined it when it was 10 cents per bitcoin. That ponzi scheme is now worth tens of thousands per bitcoin. It needs to be made money for the next group of buyers of bitcoin to increase their wealth by billions per maga voter.

That crypto money is currently buying Democratic politicians, before the greatest transfer of wealth in human history with bitcoin as money. After bitcoin is money, crypto super PACs are going to be the new controllers of politics.

While I have already voted for Talarico, I would be very happy to support Crockett if she is the nominee. Texas Democrats are blessed with two amazing persons running for this seat which is why the polling has been all over the place.

I thought our 2024 MD senate primary had some of the worst polling but TX you are the winner hands down. I really have no clue who will win on Tuesday and I am okay with that.

One or none of these polls got it right, I never seen no shit like this 🤷🏽‍♀️

Here is the latest average of the polling

These numbers are all within the margin of error and so I would not be surprised to see either candidate emerge as the nominee. Again, Texas Democrats are blessed with two amazing candidates and we will be fortunate to have either candidate be our nominee to run against hopefully Paxton.
