Hillary's clot is between her brain and her skull.

As scary as that sounds, her doctors expect a full recovery.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/31/clintons-clot-located-between-brain-and-skull-doctors-say/

(CNN) – Hillary Clinton's doctors said Monday that the secretary of state's blood clot is located "between the brain and the skull behind the right ear."

Clinton remained hospitalized Monday at New York Presbyterian Hospital for a clot that was discovered during a follow-up exam related to a concussion she suffered this month, her spokesman said.

Read the full statement from her doctors:

"In the course of a routine follow-up MRI on Sunday, the scan revealed that a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis had formed. This is a clot in the vein that is situated in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear. It did not result in a stroke, or neurological damage. To help dissolve this clot, her medical team began treating the Secretary with blood thinners. She will be released once the medication dose has been established. In all other aspects of her recovery, the Secretary is making excellent progress and we are confident she will make a full recovery. She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family, and her staff."
- Dr. Lisa Bardack, Mt. Kisco Medical Group, and Dr. Gigi El-Bayoumi, George Washington University

Celtic Blessing

May the roads rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Clots can be serious, leading to strokes, or to death.

It looks like the routine follow-up treatment and MRIs did what they were supposed to: catch these sorts of things before they can cause serious damage.

With falls like this, subdural hemorrhages/clot are more common and are not treated with blood thinners.

Still, this is an unusual presentation. Had she gotten an MRI earlier? I'm thinking no. Probably just a CT, which would not have shown this. Certainly not an MRV. I would suspect this clot formed due to dehydration from her stomach flu and precipitated her earlier fall. This would be a strange "post-concussion" development, even if she had been taken off blood thinners.

In any case, this is a considerably more delicate situation and my wishes are with her.

scary about where it's located.

Poor thing..that's quite the repercussions she's had from her original "dehydration because of a stomach virus she contracted during a trip to Europe"!

I believe that she and Presidents Obama and Clinton will rank among the greatest Democrats in the history of the Republic. I pray she experiences a complete recovery so that she can take the reigns over from my man, President Obama, for another 8 years starting in 2016!

You need a big come back. I hope your recent experience exposes you to what was once your passion - a well functioning health care delivery system.

I think Obama needs to try to get Kerry confirmed to make sure she needs. Personal health is important and not getting a full exam after hitting her head could have cost her her life.

It's time for people to stop pushing the 2016 meme

We're extremely lucky this turned out this way. I understand Secretary Clinton was alone when she passed out. My cousin passed out under similar conditions. He broke some ribs that punctured his lung and he died.
