At least three killed and 14 injured in Texas bar shooting with 'potential' terror link
Alleged gunmen among dead at incident in a popular beer garden in Austin. Police arrived, found a man with a gun, and "returned fire, killing the suspect".
Sunday 1 March 2026 17:17, UK

At least three people, including the alleged gunman, have been killed after a shooting at a bar in Texas.

Authorities say 14 others were wounded after the incident in central Austin, where the suspect was found to have "potential" links to terrorism.

The city's police chief Lisa Davis told reporters early on Sunday that her force received reports of a "male shooting" just before 2am at Buford's Backyard Beer Garden on West Sixth Street, a popular nightlife destination in the city's entertainment district filled with bars and music clubs.

Ms Davis said the suspect, who was driving an SUV, went past the bar several times, before putting the vehicle's indicators on, opening his window and "shooting [through the open window] with a pistol, striking patrons on the bar patio and in front of the bar".

The suspect then parked and "got out of his car armed with a rifle, and began shooting at people passing by".

More details:
The gunman — identified as a US citizen from Senegal — had a Quran in his car and was dressed in clothing described as Islamic garb when he began firing into the crowd.

He has a history of arrests in Texas, and is believed to have lived in New York City from 2000 to 2008, the sources said.

The animosity will increase toward all immigrants now but especially Muslins.

Makes me wonder how long war against Middle East nations has been contemplated. It would explain the exclusion of immigrants from Muslim nations before going to war against them.

What most Americans don't understand is that these terrorists are willing to die to take out as many people as they can, this is akin to the Japanese Kamakazi attacks during WWll.

This is what Trumpedo and his illegal regime have unleashed upon us.

but given the timing and execution of the attack, it's certainly a scenario to consider.

I think it’s more likely that it’s a lone wolf than some kind of network activation but we’ll see. It’s very challenging to believe anything this regime says, which is also very concerning in moments like this.

...but I am having second thoughts. I don't want the terrorists to "win," but I still have this nagging sense of unease at being out in public.

Thanks, Trump! But of course, maniacal Quran-followers were with us before this attack, and will be with us for probably a long while after. So easy to score weapons in this country, and the gun industry does not give a fuck.

You're letting evil win. Go to the market, enjoy yourself, add to the common stock of joy - we all need to not forget who we are.

Crowded, nice weather but too hot, overpriced food trucks, the “music” was canned, hardly any edible products at a “Farmers Market.” I mean food, not cannabis edibles. Disappointing as far as Farmers Markets go. Felt totally safe, until a guy with an ICE patch on his clothes walked by me. He wasn’t wearing a mask, and had no visible weapons on him. With my sunglasses on, he couldn’t tell I was giving him the evil eye. The whole crowd is Hispanic. Like fish in a barrel.

For those that supported Hillary and Kamala, I'm so sorry that we have to endure this bullshit again.

For those that didn't, because you couldn't or wouldn't learn from the lessons of the very recent past, fuck you.

PS - Think we'll see a return of the color-coded terrorist threat level?

Suddenly, a Black Muslim immigrant from Somali (which I’m sure most MAGA thinks is in the Middle East) jumps out and starts shooting up a crowd in Texas, so Trump can claim correlation between Iran’s “dangerous” (aka nonexistent) nukes and the need to have Ice Gestapo in the US.

Senegal has a totally different political makeup and relationship with the US.
I don't think this is any sort of political terrorism but more like one individual who may or may not had some mental health issues. Somali has enough racist pointing blame on them. They don't need anymore

Edited to add: This is not meant or directed at anyone posting on du. Just wanted to make sure the correct country was named
