1. Through ignorance and apathy we allowed

the one third of the US who are fascists to take over. We will have to get our own selves out of this mess by the education and engagement of the non-fascist electorate.

2. One third fascist in conjunction with an almost equal number of Christian nationalists

with a lot of overlap. They speak the same language. History pretty clear. Religion and Fascism cause war and suffering. It will require at least a temporary united alliance of moderates and progressives to defeat this regime and defend democracy.

We simply cannot allow the Oligarchs and Charlie Kirk types of the world win.

5. I would certainly agree that the "Christian" Nationalists

are absolutely fascists, or authoritarians. But I included them in that one third. There is also about one third of the electorate who are ignorant and apathetic, as long as they get their hamberders and sportsball they don't really care. The challenge that the Republicans had was to eviscerate democracy before enough of the ignorant and apathetic third woke up. The challenge that the Democratic party has is to educate and engage that third before the Republicans reduce US democracy to a charade.
