let's compare the lead-in to the iraq war with ... whatever the hell this mess is

among the many unforgiveable sins of donnie and his reign or error, he keeps making shrub look almost respectable and reasonable by comparison.

when preparing for the iraq fiasco, bush the lesser's administration orchestrated a massive public relations campaign to convince congress and the american people that invading iraq was in the national interest. granted, they did this with cynical lies and propaganda rather than objective fact, but at least they paid heed to the idea that we're a democracy and the government needs buy-in from the people when taking the country to war.

donnie said f that, i don't need permission from the people or congress or anyone else. putin wants a destabilized middle east, putin wants to give the islamic world yet another reason to hate america, putin wants terrorist groups around the world to plan fresh attacks on americans, maybe even another 9/11-scale attack. and putin wants us to deplete our stock of ammo, then go even more in debt trying to replenish it. so donnie does whatever he is told, or whatever he wants, or whatever lil nazi miller tells him to do.

oh, you people want to know why i sent your children to war? "they know what they signed up for" is all the explanation you people deserve.

ok, ok here are half a dozen lies about why we did it and are going to keep doing it. pick whichever one makes you feel better. or worse. i don't care.

now watch this swing.

At least Bush et al actually tried to make a persuasive case. As flimsy as it was they actually tried to get people on board. Trump is treating the world like the GOP and basically saying I’ll do what I want like it or not. I mean I don’t think they’ve made ANY case other than Iran wasn’t meeting the terms Trump wanted after Trump tore up the deal that was in place.

Did he try to sell America on the idea that his demands were reasonable and necessary? Or that Iran was being reasonable? Or that what they agreed to with Obama wasn't enough for some reason?

Nope. Just hey guys, I made the call because that's what dictators do, and now your kid is dead, just like my planned replacements for Iran, oh well. I'm just too successful.
