In short:
A Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker has been struck by a so-called Iranian kamikaze drone boat in the Gulf of Oman.

It is reportedly the first time Iran has used the weapon in the current war after ordering the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

What's next?
Maritime defence experts say it will be difficult for most merchant ships to defend against the drones if Iran continues the attacks.
