Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI know it's silly and superficial, but the name "Markwayne Mullin"...
...sounds like the name of a serial killer from the 1970s.
Sorry about that, just had to get that off my chest.
Happy Friday. Carry on.

RAJU: You'll concede this is war?
MARKWAYNE MULLIN: We haven't declared war. They declared war on us
RAJU: The president called it war and Secretary Hegseth called it war
REPORTER: When you walked up just now, you called it war
MULLIN: Okay. That was a misspoke.

(113,607 posts)at least separate the two legally (making one a middle name)--even if he chose to still use them both--well, hardly the sharpest "tool" in the box, but a "tool" nonetheless.

(82 posts)I was just sitting here trying to remember some of the serial killers with Wayne as their middle name; I noticed years ago that it seemed to be a weirdly frequent thing. Sure way beyond what any random distribution of names would produce!

(18,317 posts)"On the topic of infamous murders, few are wider known than serial killer John Wayne Gacy, the 'killer clown,' who murdered almost three dozen boys and young men during the 1970s. Then, of course, theres Elmer Wayne Henleyquite a bit lesser known than Gacywho was sent to prison in 1974 for the spree of murders he committed alongside Dean Allen Corll. Then theres Monty Wayne Lamb, serving a life sentence for a triple homicide in Dallas. And Alexander Wayne Watson, Jr., convicted of killing multiple victims."
"We think you see the pattern: They all have the middle name 'Wayne.' It seems coincidental, but 'Wayne' turns out to be a really common middle name for both convicted (and alleged) murderers. So much so, in fact, that News of the Weirds Chuck Shepherd kept a running tally of them through 2008; and as of now, his list of killer Waynes has 223 people on it."

(16,843 posts)I have a mentor I consider family (obviously I rarely contact him), but he joked about this guy in the context of him challenging a pro-union organizer to hand to hand combat or some such thing.
One thing I do like about guys like these is they are all the way over there. I am more irked by these Indian creeps with one foot there and one here (e.g.: that creepy Jan 6 loser Vincent Palathingal, this super sleazy guy Ragy Thomas, this nightmarish creep Shalab Kumar).
You can have them btw..a gift from India. But they should stay over there. We dont them here. We have our own, indigenous creeps..thank you very much..
