(65,595 posts)the revolutionary guard is power now and the very last thing they will do is surrender, unconditional or otherwise.

Oh, and "regime change" was in there somewhere

(53,066 posts)I'm beginning to think that Trump had very little to do with this whole operation, that he was possibly just following orders. It is hard to know what comes from Trump and what comes from his puppet masters.

(15,814 posts)Iran's instant surrender and skyhigh approval ratings. It's too bad we don't have a straight jacket emoji.

(53,066 posts)Except he was so low-key and subdued when it happened, which is unlike Trump. Instead of a major, dramatic presidential announcement on all the networks, he posted a short video on Truth Social in the middle of the night. Then he didn't have a prepared narrative, it was rather random and obscure.
Meanwhile, he is changing the narrative daily. He doesn't seem to be as invested in this "war" as I would have expected. For everything we see daily, I cringe at the thought of who and what is going on behind the scenes.

(53,066 posts)that makes the point that no one is saying WHO ordered the attack on Iran. It certainly doesn't seem to be the president. So who is running the show while he talks about gold drapes and good looking sports figures? The clips from the congressional hearing are stunning.

(53,066 posts)I don't normally watch these videos. I prefer reading articles, but that congressional hearing was worth watching. Who the hell ordered those strikes on Iran?

(1,479 posts)The real reason probably has something to do with oil - along with the usual need to put on a show.

(3,204 posts)...for Iraq two decades ago (can you believe it's been that long?!), but here the Trump regime really takes the cake. It's not enough to pave over the entire history and culture of the Middle East with miles of concrete and McDonalds--that was the neocon program--no, the Trump "leadership" apparently wants to personally select an "acceptable" leader and then somehow "make Iran great again", Soviet-style. It's not the first time Trump has expressed these kinds of delusions about what would in fact be a completely dysfunctional command economy (run by idiots).
