2. President Petro seems like an impressive leader

Since being in Panama, I’ve been slowly learning the politics of the nearby Latin nations. Gustavo Petro seems to be someone I could support.

His concerns for the environment extend to the economic impacts of corporate greed. His concerns for the Amazon rainforest are sincere. He has progressive views for women’s and LGBTQ+ rights. He’s an economist who wants strong banks with social responsibilities.

I’ll look for his eulogy for Rev. Jackson this evening.

Wow! He hit it out of the park.

His comments about the energy of life were inspiring. His admiration for Rev. Jackson was sincere. Even though his tempo was interrupted by his interpreter, he built a barn-burner of a speech!

The U.S. needs a leader like President Petro.

By the way, is his name pronounced Pay-tro or Peh-tro?
