Snip
When asked about the situation in Iran, she said that President Donald Trumps administration was trying to neuter the military strength of Iran.
End snip.

Except George Tenet went nutz trying to voice this very concern, See 8/6/2001 daily Presidential Briefing.
It's been going downhill for us since 2001....when Republicans stole Al Gore's win.
Is she auditioning for the next Trump SOS clueless person?

Trump cannot enunciate a clear reason for why he's chosen to go to war against Iran, and the administration is not even bothering to coordinate a message that clarifies its objective. While the military campaign appears aimed at regime change, Hegseth denies it is. And instead of speaking directly to Americans, POTUS himself has taken on a Jekyll and Hyde approach to his rationales in a series of private interviews: he's waffled between "freedom," to installing a caretaker regime à la Venezuela, to maybe even revenge. In any event, the United States seems like it's being dog-walked by the Israelis and the Saudis, and the corrupt deals between the Trump family and Gulf Arab states may be a factor.

Trump is no more mentally able to run the show than Reagan or Bush Jr were.

Dotard: How did you screw up so bad in Iraq?
Rice: By doing what you're about to do in Iran.
Dotard: Harrumph. [pouts] Bye.
Rice: [leaves]
Dotard: She's a loser. Low IQ. Do it.

(3,554 posts)Actually seeing Trump call in someone with SOME semblance of experience and competency isn't worst thing I can think of. Obviously I'd prefer a lot of other people, but as far as "signs" go, this is a tacit admission that Trump is ready to listen to someone outside his cabal of complete morons, wandering around slack-jawed, dicks in hands

He knew she would be seen going in.
A very sizable contingent of his base hates neocons almost as much as they hate everyone else on the planet who is not a Christian White Nationalist. Her popularity with his base is even lower than HE is, nationally. Id bet a house payment on it. He never does anything, not one thing, that isnt about him and what he can get out of it, so is he just this desperate? Or is something else happening?
I find nothing comforting here. I dont like it. Hes not developing new, better habits or ways of doing things at his age, with that spongiform brain of his.

(15,317 posts)She's a big player in the BCS, and *rump has thrown himself into trying to fix the mess the NCAA has made with situations with the Transfer Portal, the NIL (name, image, and likeness) rules, and whether or not College football and basketball players and assistants should be considered staff employees or students in terms of employment and benefits.
Ms. Rice was a mediocre Foreign Policy "expert" (typical NeoCon, still playing Cold War between Western Capitalist interests and the Soviet Union anti-West plays), but she is very good when it comes to understanding what makes a football team successful.
If she had stuck to music and Football, everyone would consider her a genius.
