The term for a traditional factory would be fabbrica.
So these are more like facilities, but Halliburton and KBR are of course oil companies - these facilities are located in and associated with the Basra oil fields.
I'll change the term in the OP to avoid confusion.

Not likely, but one can hope.

(10,553 posts)I see "oil" at $91.27/barrel at this moment, $61/barrel last week. A generic oil. That's up $10.26/barrel from the market close Friday, a 12.67% rise. Gallon for an average of $3.19 around here. $2.50 last week.
I'm sure glad I have a PHEV car. The electric motor will only go 30 miles on a charge, but that's enough to get me just about anywhere and back in this town.

(22,059 posts)Compared to past episodes of ME conflict, oil price increases have seemed a bit tame. I was expecting $100+ well before now.

(587 posts)It is being reported that a thousand Americans died in an Iranian attack on a base in Saudi Arabia. Silence from the White House.

(84,934 posts)There are elements of truth to it but doesn't claim that 1000 soldiers are dead and uses some fake imagery. It is also very pro-Iran

(5,798 posts)And their people have largely been unconquerable since the dawn of history. Akexander basically passed through and they altered Islam before adopting it. And they have been arming and training for 45 years now.

(12,435 posts)The 36,574 dead GI's in Korea & 58,220 dead in Vietnam support that.
Also if Iran was "unconquerable" they would still be practicing Zoroastrianism, not Islam.
Iran has been fully conquered by external powers roughly 3 to 5 major times in its ~3,000-year history, despite its rugged, defensible terrain. Major conquests included Alexander the Great (330 BC), the Arab/Islamic conquest (7th century), the Mongols (13th century), and temporary conquests by Turkic peoples and the Safavids.
