Is it a coincidence that the GOP is allying itself with anti-women policies, and that it also cozies up to 2 societies where women have 2nd class citizen status? Saudi Arabia and Russia.

Recent survey shows a high percentage of Gen Z men think wives should ‘obey their husbands’.
Social media is full of propaganda targeting many segments to encourage marriage, children, skipping college, domineering husbands, etc.
Of course, ‘traditional’ married women vote republican more often, so there’s that motivation. Meanwhile, pumping up the victim mindset among men and then relieving the stress with this ideology is another electoral benefit to the GOP.
But I wonder if shifting international alliances are also part of the story. Saudi money coming in — and eventually saudis themselves? — is made easier if women get accustomed to tolerated repression.
Individual freedom in general is also on the cutting room floor.
AI-driven job loss can be absorbed more easily by shrinking women’s ’workforce participation’.
Media (Larry Ellison et al) will be used to sell these changes, just as it was called upon to sell other changes, from post-depression optimism to Ozzie and Harriet to integration to Mary Tyler Moore. To the acceptance of state-imposed torture and Darwinian survival shows and endless dystopia.
