McDonalds new burger will cost you at least $10.00

McDonald's Big Arch Burger Prices Swing Wildly Across U.S., New Study Shows

A new study by NeoMam Studios has revealed the highly variable pricing of McDonald’s new Big Arch Burger across the United States.

The Big Arch Is McDonald's Biggest Burger

On Tuesday, March 3, McDonald’s launched the Big Arch burger in stores nationwide. The chain promises that it’s the “most McDonald’s McDonald’s burger yet,” bigger than any other sandwich on the menu. The sandwich is made with two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white cheddar, crispy onions, and a new tangy "Big Arch Sauce" sandwiched between two sesame buns.

NeoMam Studios analyzed the cost of the Big Arch burger across states, and the price varies widely. The most expensive city in which to purchase a Big Arch Burger is Lewiston, ME, where the sandwich will cost you $12.99. The most expensive state in which to purchase the Big Arch is Alaska, where the average price is $10.32. In general, Alaska proved to be an expensive state for McDonald’s lovers. The second most-expensive city in which to purchase a Big Arch is Juneau, AL, where the burger costs $11.49.

Washington ($10.19), Maine ($10.03), Hawaii ($10.00), and Arizona ($9.96) rounded out the top five most expensive states for a Big Arch. Pearl City, HI ($11.29); Spokane, WA ($11.29); and Tucson, AZ ($10.52), rounded out the top five most expensive cities.

https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/articles/mcdonalds-big-arch-burger-prices-170000376.html

I don't eat much fast food these days given the price. If I don't feel like cooking, I can usually find something affordable at the deli section of my local grocery store.

Price? 15 bucks an hour for people to flip burgers is how we got here.
It sounds like a lamentation about how we pay people too much for jobs you consider menial?

How much should we pay in wages? Ask the people who don't buy fast food anymore.
I don’t even know how this is an answer other than a snarky comment about how minimum wage laws have priced people out of affording fast food.

It is true that fast food prices have gone up because costs, especially beef and wages, have also risen. Easy enough to say unambiguously. If you insert snark, don’t be surprised when people don’t try to figure out the intention. If you actually don’t have a problem with burger flippers making $15 an hour, you’ve failed at communicating that.

43. High wages
Sun Mar 8, 2026, 07:15 PM

for unskilled labor absolutely have contributed to the rising costs of those products. It is also eventually an inflation contributor, these things are circular and all affect each other. I never even mentioned "minimum wage" in my comment, you guys did. In fact, in many areas, 15 bucks an hour is FAR above minimum wage (like, double in most states). But something happened about 5-6 years ago (covid maybe? partially? I don't know) where these businesses couldn't get anyone to work anymore, so the wage started climbing along with inflation and the cost of materials, and then eventually, the end product.
Is this something you disagree with? If so, say so and present your argument. Who knows, I may learn something that I didn't know, that happens every day. I'm not here to sell something. Feel free to disagree with anything I say, just be prepared to explain yourself if you wish to engage. All I ask is that you stop trying to put words in my mouth or assign interpretation to what I say. It's not productive and it's dishonest in discussion. And I can also assign the label of "snark" to anything you say and then attack you for it if I want to make up some nefarious intent accusation. But notice that I don't, and that's because it's dishonest.
What I see is people who heard something they didn't want to hear and are attacking the person who said it because they are itchin for a take-down of some sort. I find that to be petty on top of it all.

Why complain about people trying to determine your intent when you hide it behind snark. You can assign the label “snark” all you want but it would be wrong if it doesn’t apply. I actually quoted two of your statements that can be defensibly labeled snark, not to mention blaming cows or whatever that was. I never said I disagreed with your opinion because you didn’t really lay it out and got defensive when people tried to interpret your aphorisms. I don’t know what nefarious intent you think I attributed other than saying if you are unclear in expressing your opinion, one will be inferred and then you have a chance to clarify.
Your first paragraph here is actual engagement. Yours is a reasonable opinion. If you made it more clear originally, you might have received the sort of engagement you desired. You believe rising unskilled labor costs not only cause inflation related to the products they are involve in making, but to inflation throughout the economy. Obviously, both are true, but to what extent is arguable. I don’t really like the term unskilled labor because often its use is determined by how much we historically have valued the jobs and not the actual skill involved. I live in a high minimum wage state have intimate knowledge of the effects of wage inflation on both the volume and bottom line in fast food operations. For the owner that would like to pay their employees more, it’s a double edged sword in that higher minimum wage allows an owner to compensate their employees better without losing market share, but it also prices them out of some habitual purchases and often results in lower price adjusted revenue. I really don’t know the answer as to how to provide a living wage without its inflationary impact, but I think the positive effect on the most economically vulnerable might be worth inflation adjusted lower earning power for the rest of us.

Sun Mar 8, 2026, 06:25 PM

I "blame the workers" ?
It's simple math. Labor costs are roughly 30-35% of the operating costs. If one is higher, so is the other and that translates to higher cost of the end product. Should I have included a complete breakdown of every single operating cost for cooking a hamburger? Because I'm not doing that just so people don't jump to ridiculous conclusions and see nefarious things where they don't exist.
So unless there is some secret decoder ring that I am unaware of that tells you what I mean rather than what I said, the actual words matter.
So again, where did I "blame the workers"?

62. I went back to Weight Watchers in June of 2013
Mon Mar 9, 2026, 08:32 AM

Just after I turned 61. My Mother died that January, 12 days before her 79th Birthday.

After 5 months of mourning her loss, I did not take care of myself as well as I should have. Feeling down and looking dumpy, I did a 360 in my fill length mirror in my undies before my shower. It was then I decided to get my butt back to Weight Watchers(WW) and relearn some things, reset my lifestyle goals, get CONTROL back into my life, re-earn my Lifetime member benefits, and get this extra 60 pounds off. At 5'5" tall, weighing 208 pounds was not in my best interest.

My journey to better mental and physical health began on June 3rd, 2013. I am still on that journey to this day weighing between 145 to 150. I have been wearing size 8 to 10 pants for 12 years now. I have been on numerous road trips, several International trips, and HAVE NOT regained the weight back. Every month I go to my Weight Watcher's meeting as a FREE Lifetime member still below my goal. WW is a lifestyle, not a diet. Due to some changes from within, I limit intake of breads and pastas(Gluten issues), white potatoes and rice, most dairy products(Lactose). I stick with Lean proteins, healthy fats, low Glycemic vegetables, plus fruits. Nothing is off the table, but I watch serving and portion sizes. I AM IN CONTROL and I DECIDE whether or not I eat a rich dessert, have a 2nd helping, or another glass of wine.

I walk 3 miles a day on average(sometimes more), 5 to 6 days a week for my overall health, work out with weights to stay strong muscle wise. My Internist said his job would be easier of he had more patients like me. I take some medications for my eyes and upper and lower GI issues.(Thus the limitations on certain foods). I will be 74 my next Birthday. This widow refuses to sit back and get frumpy. There is too much of life to be enjoyed. Places to go, people to see, things to do, etc.

As for calories, it is the QUALITY of those calories that makes all the difference. 2 slices of a deep dish pizza with everything on it and beer can be the calories one needs in one day as compared to 3 meals and a healthy snack. WW has taught me much over the last 13 years. My life has been all the better for it. For I am running a marathon, not a sprint. Losing weight is not difficult if one works at it and LEARNS things along the way. KEEPING the weight off, that's where the real work comes in.

Hope this helps.
