Today, I was made aware of some madmen mulling the idea of sending our Special Operations Forces to Iran to secure the 450 kg (990 lbs) of enriched uranium that werent utterly obliterated a few months ago.
Now, this stockpile is probably containerized in a heavily guarded, hardened facility with a zonal defense of at least a 5 kilometer radius from the center. To secure this facility and extract the material would require air and ground assets including experienced personnel who specialize in handling fissionable material.
So how do you neutralize the area without damaging the package including incapacitating the protective force?
Oh, how about a little VX, the most lethal nerve agent in our inventory? Think these fuckers would give a second thought about employing a WMD? Nope.
And once the chemical WMD genie is out of the bottle the nukes are not far behind.
Thanks, you fucking MAGATS.

(2,490 posts)The last VX was destroyed in 2022 and the last chemical weapons we had in inventory were destroyed in 2023.

Knowing the chemistry, I can tell you it requires highly specialized equipment to make in any significant volume.
I have to consider the possibility that the hardware has been decommissioned.
So, making more is not just flipping a switch.
We're kind of debating the unknowable here. All strictly speculation.

But the U.S. never had a bag of fuck President.

(15,499 posts)To secure the uranium. A very small group that will need a very large support package to pull it off.

(1,449 posts)Our special forces just took the sitting leader out of Venezuela while incapacitating all of the defenses. No nerve agents.
The US is signatory of the chemical weapons convention and destroyed all of our stockpiles back in the 90s. They use to do it out at rocky flats in Colorado.
I dont think this is valid at all.

(15,499 posts)As snatching material.
You really think the child raping bag of fuck or his cronies would be encumbered by such quaint things as being signatories to a convention?
Melon
(1,449 posts)He has been in office one year. We just didnt start producing nerve agents. That requires planning, investments, secure facilities, etc etc.
it would be known.
This is fantastic and really no place for it. You can of course have these thoughts, but asking others to validate them
