Kudos to Christian Bale and his foster care village!

"Christian Bale spent roughly 15–16 years quietly working to create a foster-care village in Palmdale through the nonprofit Together California. The project, costing around $20–22 million, was designed to keep siblings from being separated in the foster system by housing them together in family-style homes. It also includes apartments for teens aging out of care and a large community center offering support services to help them transition successfully into adulthood.

Christian Bale was deeply involved for over a decade in helping make the village a reality."

That was a great movie and he was a revelation as an actor in it.

But he does make me feel so old. When he was filming Empire of the Sun as a kid, I'd already served time in the Navy, finished an undergrad degree, married and had a real job. Now he's north of 50. Damn I feel old.

Great performance for someone so young. "P-51!! Cadillac of the sky!!!" The purr of a Mustang sporting a Rolls Royce Merlin is unmistakable. Still gives me chill bumps.

Instead of giving tax breaks to the greedy wealthy they don’t need, invest the money in subsidizing programs like this. Our government needs to take notice when good hearted people like Bale show them how to do it.
