Franz Ferdinand "Furious" At IDF For Using "Take Me Out" In Social Media Post

By now most US residents with internet access are well aware that the White House likes to use pop hits to promote their violent, white nationalistic nonsense on social media, even if the stars behind those pop hits never agreed to it. Now, as we approach two weeks since the US and Israel started bombing Iran, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have evidently caught on to the White House's social media strategy (maybe it's happened sooner, but I'm sure as hell not checking the IDF's social media). In an Instagram clip Saturday, the IDF used Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out," and the guys behind the 2004 hit are pissed about it.

Per NME, the since-deleted video showed footage of just a sliver of the deadly airstrikes that the IDF has been committing against Iranian civilians; their supreme leader Ali Khamenei has already been killed. "Operation Roaring Lion – this is how it’s done," read the IDF's caption.

Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos responded to the video in question on his Instagram story: "These warmongering murderers are using our music without our consent. This makes us both nauseous and furious. Kind of typical though, isn’t it? To strut up and take what isn’t theirs with a vile arrogance..."

It's worth noting that while Franz Ferdinand — the band — are Scottish, they did drop the Donald Trump diss track "Demagogue" way back in 2016.
