https://www.rawstory.com/tucker-carlson-2675914363/Conservatives flip out as MAGA icon makes 'truly unhinged' prediction about US troops
Republican lawmakers, conservative pundits and military veterans reacted with revulsion over the weekend at comments made by podcaster Tucker Carlson on Friday, in which he predicted that US troops would go on a campaign of sexual assault in Iran if the country agreed to Donald Trumps unconditional surrender" terms.
In an interview with Breaking Points co-host Saagar Enjeti, the former Fox News personality reacted to the unconditional surrender comments amplified by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, by telling the podcast host, Unconditional surrender means foreign troops get to rape your wife and daughter if they want and everyone knows that.

(1,677 posts)Yes we have constrained the actions of most state militaries, but there are still similar examples in modern war.

Plunder, rape, terrorize, assume possession and ownership.

(3,924 posts)... like Tucker Carlson, he must be deprived of the oxygen of attention that he constantly craves. He will say and/or do anything to be the center of attention because he is a psychopath. Ignore him. Refuse to give him a soapbox from which to spew his vitriol. Pay no attention to him whatsoever. He will slither back into the sewer that spawned him, and wallow in his resentment, whining into the darkness.

(805 posts)Rape is a big problem during peacetime. Even active-duty females get raped. I don't see what's 'truly unhinged' prediction about what he said.

(1,456 posts)Its an insulting premise to even print. Our troops are the same people that have always been militarily despite the president. They just didnt switch out a year ago.
Tucker needs to just go away. He says anything for attention just to get negative viewers.

(805 posts)Good Lord. Soldiers who rape during peacetime, even as far as raping fellow soldiers, are even worse during war time. Believe, or pretend to, what you want. Some discussions aren't worth wasting time with.

Our ALLY the SOVIET UNION wrought vengeance upon Germanfolk, that seems to be true.

The U.S. doesn't have that great a record when it comes to post-WWII Japan, either, to this day.

(338 posts)We did our fair share of plundering. Stories have popped up here and there of GIs taking gold, jewels and other valuables they stumbled across. More than one packed up a car clandestinely and shipped it home after the war. Knew a friend of a friend of my family who stumbled across an "abandoned" Mercedes 540k in the garage of a bombed out house. He packed in grease, oilcloth and a plywood box, stashed in under rubble, went home and was discharged, came back to Germany as a civilian a year and a half later, dug it up and shipped it home. Got to see it once, beautiful car.
It's war, these things happen more than you think, people just don't talk much about them afterwards.
