Trump's Iran Blunders Suddenly Look Darker after Damning New Leaks Hit (Greg Sargent, The New Republic)

https://newrepublic.com/article/207666/trump-iran-blunders-suddenly-look-darker-damning-new-leaks-hit

This page has audio of Greg Sargent's latest podcast. Part of the intro:

For Donald Trump, the news is getting worse on his war against Iran. The New York Times reports that the Trump team badly miscalculated Iran’s response to the American invasion, leading to a developing energy fiasco. The Times also reports that some officials are pessimistic about the lack of any real strategy to end the war, adding this: “They have been careful not to express that directly to the president, who has repeatedly declared that the military operation is a complete success.” Their fear of telling Trump the truth about our fix is highly unnerving....

This page has the transcript of the podcast. Excerpt:

Saunders: To be honest, I think he just has no grasp of what the situation really is. I think he wants brave captains to run the Strait of Hormuz like in Star Wars—you know, the Kessel Run or whatever it is. And I don’t mean to make light of it, because it’s a dangerous state of affairs. He wants these ships to be taking on very dangerous journeys through this very narrow, very shallow strait that may now have mines.

As he said in that clip, he said they’ve destroyed all their mining ships. That’s absolutely not true. They may have distributed some of the mines around Iran so that they couldn’t be targeted directly in one go. They may have already laid some mines. We don’t fully know, but I would say that is not something we can just take on Trump’s say-so.

This is not something the world, and in particular the financial world that insures these ships, and the companies that run these ships, and the pilots and captains, you know, the people who crew these ships, can unsee. Iran struck these tankers—at least three, at last count, that I saw today, and I may already be out of date. And if you look at these images of tankers on fire, what captain, what company in their right mind would send a tanker laden with fuel through the Strait of Hormuz? It’s really dangerous.

And so there’s been talk of a naval escort by the U.S., and the Navy is simply not equipped to do that. And even if it were, it really does not want to, because it makes the U.S. naval ships a target as well, right? These ballistic missiles that Iran has could hit these ships—they can attack them from the shore and they can also mine the Strait. And this is a problem that U.S. military planners and analysts, national security analysts, and presidential administrations have been thinking about for 20 years. And every president until Trump has been deterred from doing it, precisely because this is such a mess.

How many of you remember 2017 when Rex Tillerson, his Sec. of State quit. Told a friend, He is a f@$#ing moron! Well he's more moronic than ever. Congress needs to pull the plug on him. Our country is in danger.

He will get supremely frustrated with the worsening economic situation. Will the military do it? If not, we will need a coup. This is fucked

... through which to view this clusterfuck. Never lose sight of the irrefutable fact that Trump is a Russian asset. Putin doesn't always have to give Trump instructions; his staggering stupidity and narcissistic arrogance virtually assures that anything he does will ultimately serve Putin's interests. Strangling the standard delivery routes of oil tankers cripples the West's fuel dependency, and hamstrings the US economy. A win-win for Vlad The Impaler. It may also force Europe to reconsider its position on Russian oil and natural gas, reopening a critical revenue stream for Russia.
Nothing Trump says or does is ever in the best interests of this country. Everything has to serve his malicious intentions and his fragile ego at the moment. Forethought is not now, nor has it ever been, part of his makeup.

No matter how bad things are in the Hormuz Strait, the ports on the Black Sea and Baltic Sea are still fully operational.

Since it is an active war crews can say no way are we moving through hostilities. I read an account in the Wall Street Journal comments, Japanese Capitain, ship built in Korea, owned by a Panama Corp, flagged in Cameroon with mostly Filipeno (his spelling) crew. He said he'd support them saying No and they would take sippy cups from China to Europe the long way instead.

It's obvious the Trump is incapable of leading any longer. If his advisors can't tell him the truth, it's time to go.

Again, this is on Republicans and everyone running against an incumbent Senator or House member should make this an issue. And the message is simple: They represent Donald Trump, not you. It's time that you have representation.

For the Republican House Members, The Republican Senators, and the Republican U.S. Supreme Court Justices,
Trump wouldn't have made it past his first week, in his first term.....

THEY ALL ARE TO SHOULDER 100% OF THE BLAME..........

The Senators that voted not to impeach him, should be the first arrested, and Given Life Sentences, without Parole.
Or better yet, send them to that horrific Prison down in El Salvador?

A play on Trump’s NK bestie “Dear Leader”.

And by the way, I saw something saying Iranian missiles borrowed NK technology. Another bit of sad evidence that Trump’s choice of people he admires endangers us all.

They have been careful not to express that directly to the president, who has repeatedly declared that the military operation is a complete success.” Their fear of telling Trump the truth about our fix is highly unnerving....

Because this is what you get when you're dealing with an incompetent 'president' who surrounds himself with incompetent lackeys. They're too afraid to bust his balls with the truth while he destroys the last shred of global respect for the United States and is willing to burn the world down due to ignorance and arrogance.

Agent Orange is NOT a decider. Agent Orange IS a demented destroyer.
