Trump Lost the Cold War to Russia Last Week

When their proxy shut the Straights of Hormuz.

That's what struck me last night. Back in the 1980's if you were anywhere around National Security (I was a student) you knew the US fears of Russia physically taking over the Gulf region. US security was centered around preventing what just happened: a Russian ally/proxy closed the Gulf to all shipping.

We may not know it's Game Over yet as a nation, but that's what it is.

2. Trump didn't lose the Cold War with Russia. He gave it to them.

3. What scares me about the old policy is how a takeover COULD NOT

be allowed. This is where the policy wonks and generals start talking massive ground invasions and things like tactical nukes.

Literally, our policy since the Reagan era.

Regardless, America loses with a big L.
